Minister of Advisory Office of Economic Advisory of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand – Zhang Peidong delivered a speech: “the current epidemic is sweeping the world. Thai-China trade is countering the trend, demonstrates flexibility, capacity, trade and services. It is a growing industry for cooperation between China and Thailand. In the past few years, Thailand’s imports and exports of services to China remain in the top 20. In 2019, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Thailand reached 10.98 million, and the number of Chinese students studying in Thailand remained around 40,000 throughout the year. Meanwhile, Thai-China trade in transportation, finance, telecommunications E-commerce, culture and entertainment have continued to grow in recent years.” To reduce the impact of the epidemic in the international economy, both Thai and Chinese governments are actively adopting models and introducing relevant policies and measures in order to ensure economic and international trade policy of Thai-China entrepreneur operational guidelines will be established through the 2020 Fair for Trade in Services. To promote international exchange and cooperation in trade and service, and to make a positive contribution to the improvement of Thai-China economic and trade cooperation. I hope this meeting will be a complete success!
Meanwhile, the service industry also plays an important role in the overall economy in Thailand. In 2018, GDP of service industry is 64% of GDP of tourism industry. Old traditional service industry, trade, tourism, hotel and restaurant is 14% of overall DGP. Despite the impact of the new epidemic in 2020, economic exchange and trade between Thai-China is closer and trade volume increased continuously, especially in the first 7 months of 2020 where the trade volume of both countries has reached 54.176 billion US Dollars – 6.5% increase. Thailand’s exports to China has reached 27,500 million US Dollars – 10.5% increase. The minister also suggested that Thailand currently open domestic tourism, encourage the return of domestic travel and other measures has gradually continued considering the ease of the epidemic. It is expected to that there will be good news about opening the tourism between Thailand and China soon.
Wang Caiyi, Vice Chairman of JD.com, stated about details on complete service and supply chain matching of JD.com, including complete system that is not only for support sales of Chinese products but also efficient platform for Thai products export to China.
